Delano was founded on July 14, 1869 as a railroad terminus and named for Columbus Delano, then Secretary of the Interior. It incorporated in 1913 and had 51,428 residents as of 2020, sitting at 315 feet of elevation in the San Joaquin Valley.

Valley Climate, Tule Fog and Wood Movement
